A.L. (Alf) Evans
|
Has the distinction of playing in the greatest number of A Grade premierships in Victorian Lacrosse, and possibly Australian Lacrosse. He played in the following premierships ¬1934, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1954 (total 17).; Captain on eight of these occasions. He represented the State on many occasions, was captain and coach of State teams and generally supported the game in all ways possible, eg. Association Committeeman, Executive member of Malvern, coach of teams other than Malvern. |
Allan Datson
|
A strong supporter of the club still today. Coached at club and state level and represented Victoria in 1961 Junior team, 1963 No 2 Colts team, Victorian Seniors 1968, 69, 70, 74. Represented Australia in 1972. |
Bill Daw
|
A great attack player who represented Victoria on many occasions and Australia in 1959. Coached the A grade team for many years. |
R. (Bob) Coldstream
|
Prominent A Grade and Interstate player. President of the club for twenty four years; President of Victorian Association 1955 to 1966; President of Australian Lacrosse Council for several years; in many ways responsible for the first visit of an Australian team overseas. Regarded by most people as one of the greatest workers in lacrosse. |
Brad Skepper
|
Another great defence player, feared by most of his opponents. Represented Australia and Victoria. Worked extremely hard on junior recruitment and starting the women’s teams at the club. Served as Committeeman for several years. |
C. (Clarrie) Foster
|
Played in thirteen A grade premierships. Contributed to the club as administrators and did much to help the club during the periods of their association with Malvern. All played Interstate lacrosse and served the Victorian Association in various ways. |
C.G. (Charles) Middleton
|
Followed on after Alf Evans as Captain and Coach of the senior team. He was a member of the A team on eleven occasions when premierships were won. Represented the club on Association Committees, the State as a player, and for a number of years was Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association. He also coached the Victorian State Team. He is a Life Member of the Malvern Club and has given many years to the administration of the club and lacrosse in general. |
C.K. (Cliff) Page

Nine premierships. Is the nephew of the original Page family, which was associated with the club for a large part of its early history. Played Interstate lacrosse and served the club as a Committeeman during his period of membership. Was, in 1972, a clergyman based in the country. |
Charles Frank Lansbury

David Joy
|
A long time member of Malvern. Coached junior and senior teams at the club. Played State League in 1993, which shows great commitment to the club. Represented Victoria in 1971 Junior Team, 1973 Colts Team, 1974, 1976, 1978 Victorian Senior Teams, Australia 1976 -1978. Australian All Stars Teams in 1976 and 1977. A tough hard player as many opponents will tell. |
Geoff Treloar

A great centre player who represented Australia in 1967, 1970 and 1974 and Victoria on other occasions. Worked hard for the club with the juniors and seniors. |
George (Fuzzy) Knowles
|
Played in fourteen A grade premierships. Both always worked for the club as administrators and did many things to help the club during their association with Malvern. Both played Interstate lacrosse and served the Victorian Association. |
Graeme Minniece
|
Represented Victoria and Australia. Was part of the first team to tour the U.S.A. considered to have finesse to his style of play that is not seen in many players. Served as President and Committeeman. |
Graham Reddaway
|
Nine premierships. Was a member of many Interstate teams and regarded as one of the greatest defence players produced by the club. Served on the Association permit committee for a time. |
H.W. (Hugh) Wood
|
Foster Played in thirteen A grade premierships. Contributed to the club as administrators and did much to help the club during the periods of their association with Malvern. All played Interstate lacrosse and served the Victorian Association in various ways. |
J. (John) Neilson
|
Nine premierships. Well known many players of the 70’s and 80’s. Did much for the club in his retirement from playing. Represented the State on a number of occasions and has served as coach and as a Committeeman of the club for a number of years. |
J.L. (Jack) Beattie
|
Captain of A Grade Teams in 1924, 1925, 1926, 1928, 1929, 1931,1932, 1933, 1935 (ten in total); successful Captain of Interstate teams on a number of occasions and generally admitted to be one of the greatest “Forwards” the game has seen. Spent many years as a Committeeman of the club and gave many years to Association affairs. He was a Life Member of the Victorian Amateur Lacrosse Association. |
J.W. (Jack) Schafe

The club’s original Secretary for at least five years who contributed greatly to the formation of the club and remained its strong supporter during his lifetime. |
Jeff Campbell
|
Has followed on in his father’s (Trevor Campbell) footsteps. Attack/Midfield player who represented Australia in 1981, 1986 and 1990 and Victoria on many occasions. Coached junior and senior lacrosse. |
Jeff Kelly
|
A formidable defence player who represented Australia in 1970, 1972, 1974 and 1976 and Victoria in many teams. |
Jim Daw
|
Represented Victoria on many occasions and Australia in 1959. Has been a tireless worker for the club over the years. Served as President of the club and was a Committeeman for several years. |
Keith Daly
|
A formidable left hand attack player who was associated with the club for many years. Coached Juniors and Seniors and represented Victoria in 1963 Junior Team (Captain), Victorian Senior teams 1970,71,73,75,76 and 77. Represented Australia 1974 and 1978. Australian All Stars 1976 and 1977. |
N. R. (Noel) Jeffrey
|
Played in twelve A grade premiership teams, including the period 1950 to 1959 of ten consecutive premierships. He represented the State on a great number of occasions and held a number of Executive positions both within the club and the Victorian Association. It was his fund raising efforts that enabled the Victorian contingent of the Australian team to make the overseas trip in 1962. He continued his fund raising efforts for
several years to assist in financing the activities of the Association. Now permanently resident in America, he is greatly missed by the club in many ways. |
O.G. (Otto) Unkenstein

Foster Played in thirteen A grade premierships. Contributed to the club as administrators and did much to help the club during the periods of their association with Malvern. All played Interstate lacrosse and served the Victorian Association in various ways. |
Paul Cook
|
Regarded as one of the greatest attack/midfield players. Represented Victoria, in both junior and seniors, on many occasions and Australia. Coached junior teams. |
R.A. (Ron) Heyward
|
Prominent A Grade player in the late 1920’s, an Interstate representative and Honorary Secretary of the club for a number of years. Although not as well known as a number of the earlier greats, performed a lot of tasks for the club and introduced new players to the game. |
R.J. (Reg) Brierley
|
Foster Played in thirteen A grade premierships. Contributed to the club as administrators and did much to help the club during the periods of their association with Malvern. All played Interstate lacrosse and served the Victorian Association in various ways. |
R.J. (Roy) Sloggett
|
Nine premierships. Was a member of many Interstate teams and regarded as one of the greatest defence players produced by the club. Served on the Association permit committee for a time. |
R.W. (Roy) Reddaway
|
Followed on after Charles Middleton as Captain and Coach of the senior team. He was a member of the A Team on eleven occasions when premierships were won and together with Noel Jeffrey is the only other player who participated in all of the ten consecutive premierships won by the club from 1950 to 1959. |
Rod Ansell
|
One of the great defence players. Represented Australia in 1986 and 1990 and Victoria on many junior and senior teams. Captained the 1990 Australian team. Served as Treasurer and Committeeman for many years. |
Ron Alaimo
|
Played in many premiership teams, and represented Victoria on many occasions both as a player and an administrator. Served as Secretary, Treasurer and Committeeman. Represented Victoria and Australia. Coached seniors for some years. A noted referee who represented Australia as a referee and thus has the unique situation of representing Australia as both a player and a referee. |
T. (Terry) Allington
|
A player with various teams of the club for many years and successfully coached junior teams. Also coach of the senior team for some five years and represented on the Association for many years. He has an unsurpassed record of coaching junior and senior Interstate Victorian teams and also a team that played overseas in 1972, achieving great success. He served as President of the Malvern club for a period of five years and has occupied other executive positions with success, both at club and Association level. |
Trevor Campbell

A staunch Malvern player who represented Victoria more than a dozen times. Trevor played for Australia in 1967. At club level he played A grade, captained and coached B grade, coached juniors and was on the committee for many years. |
Vern Waring
|
Eight premierships. Also regarded as one of the finest defence players produced by the club but for some reason did not achieve interstate selection. Served as Treasurer of the club for several years and also as a Committeeman. |
V. P Healy
|
Prominent A Grade and Interstate player and President of the club for approximately twenty years. |
W.J. (Wally) Edwards
|
Played in fourteen A grade premierships. Both always worked for the club as administrators and did many things to help the club during their association with Malvern. Both played Interstate lacrosse and served the Victorian Association. |
