State League: vs Caulfield 17-11

State League had, in the end, a convincing 17-11 win on the scoreboard against the Cauflield Cobras on the weekend. With our new player Mike Kenlay making his debut in the red and black, we were able to put some poor play behind us and finish strongly in the match scoring 10 goals to 5 in the 2nd half.
Mike had a very handy first game for us bagging 4 goals, including a top shelf laser in the 3rd quarter that left the goalie smelling burnt nylon.
Welcome late additions Glenn “Punch you in the face” Rubberman Meredith, Andy Cook and Rod Ansell meant we had a plethora of experience, meaning Mr.Everywhere Travis Croll could move to attack in the second half, and ended up bagging 4 goals himself.
The defence lead by Dale Croll and assisted by Rocket,Andy, Lopesy and Courtney “i thought we had a bye” Scanlan kept the attack of caulfield at bay for most of the match with caulfield having the majority of possession throughout the day.
Clamps Bown was impressive in the middle yet again doing what he does best, giving malvern first possession of the ball.
The midfield played some strong defence and good tranisition play meant that the attack and defence were ably supported all day.

Division 1: vs Melbourne Uni 14-4

Divisions 1 had a slow start again Melboune Uni allowing them to stay in the game until the last quarter were there was a 7-0 score.

The defense played well yet again and the centre was controlled by Rod Finnigan in the scond half of the game.

Adam Barnes ended the day with 4 goals Rob Chamberlain with 5, 2 goals to Pat McGrath-Campbell and one goal to both Mez Clough, Joe Foster and rod Finnigan.

This weeks game against Surrey park will be a much hard task that we are looking forward to taking on.

Division 3: vs MCC 0-10
